The Bytown Fire Brigade has purchased 50 copies of the book for resale.
The Russell Historical Society has published a children’s book on the 1915 Great Russell Fire entitled “Silsby Saves the Day”. The Book tells the story of the day much of the Town of Russell was on fire and the Ottawa Fire Department put the steamer and horses on a flatbed railway train car with 14 firemen on a speedy run to Russell. Most of the town was saved.
