From a blank canvas (yellow helmet) to a finished portrait which is the artwork that was conceived and painted on these helmets by Lisgar and Sir Wilfred Laurier High School students under the guidance of art teachers Sheri-Grant Perras and Rachel Perras in support of the Bytown Fire Brigade and two children’s charities (CHEO & Camp Bucko).
In addition, local artists Josée Turgeon and Michaela St-Aubain donated their helmet artwork. The civic engagement and charitable work of the students, their teachers, and our local artists exemplify the finest characteristics of gift-giving through their caring for and sharing with others.
